Blog Post 2: Why did I choose my major?

Imagen
I n 2015, after graduating from college, I decided to study civil engineering in computer science and telecommunications. Two years later I decided to leave it, without a doubt it was not the career I wanted to study and I did not project myself working in that area. Throughout my childhood I wanted to study journalism, however when I was a teenager my tastes changed. Some time later I finally entered to study the career of my dreams: Journalism. In 2018 I began to study this career at the University of Chile where I have had a very good experience. My desire to communicate was what led me to choose this career, being able to investigate and inform people of everything they need to know. I think it is essential for a democracy. I am in my fourth year, and next year I already hope to graduate.

H ello my name is José. I am 24 years old and I am currently in Santiago de Chile. Although I now live in this city, my place of origin is Panquehue in the Valparaíso Region. Panquehue is a small city in the interior of this region, a rural place where it is wonderful to live, ideally if you want to disconnect from the chaos of the cities. I arrived in Santiago six years ago, when I started studying engineering at the Diego Portales University. After a stint in that career, I switched to Journalism. Another day we will talk about it. My family is made up of my mother, my father and my brother, I am the youngest. My brother also lives in Santiago with his family.
